The municipal gardens of the city gardens work together with the residents to promote local initiatives to develop and nurture the surrounding environment and create a vibrant urban space that carries with it vitality and continuity. The Community Administration helps raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues and supports community activities that take place in community gardens, doing tree protection in the city, reducing garbage and recycling through the “green bin” venture, and other urban sustainability initiatives. This activity is a lever for promoting quality of life and community and a model for urban sustainability in the city of Jerusalem
מינהל קהילתי “גינות העיר” פועל יחד עם התושבים לקידום יוזמות מקומיות לפיתוח וטיפוח הסביבה הקרובה ויצירת מרחב עירוני תוסס הנושא בתוכו חיוניות והמשכיות. המינהל הקהילתי מסייע להעלאת המודעות לנושאי איכות הסביבה וקיימות ותומך בפעילות קהילתית המתרחשת בגינות קהילתיות, בעשייה למען הגנת אילנות בעיר, לצמצום אשפה ומחזור באמצעות מיזם “מהפח ירוק” וביוזמות נוספות של קיימות אורבנית . פעילות זו מהווה מנוף לקידום איכות החיים והקהילה ומודל לקיימות עירונית בעיר ירושלים
